Pastor Joe Polzin, Senior Pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, has been a pastor for over 20 years. His position consists of serving as Pastor, Leader, and Preacher/Teacher of BLC. He previously served as an Associate and Sole pastor. In 2003, he completed a four-year program of Pastoral Leadership Training(PLI). He is a graduate of Concordia College, Ann Arbor,Michigan (BA 1981), and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri (MDIV1985).
Pastor Joe and his wife, Natalie, have five children - four boys and one girl. He is a member of Sunrise Rotary in Cedar Rapids and enjoys golf and tennis.

Pastor Paul Scheidt, Assistant to the Pastor, serves in a part-time pastoral capacity at Bethany Lutheran Church. He has previously served in full-time ministry for 40 years (35 of which were in Cedar Rapids). He is now semi-retired. Pastor Paul and his wife, Edie, have three daughters and eight grandchildren - all of whom are located in St.Louis, Missouri.

Randi Petrik is the Youth Minister at Bethany Lutheran Church. She graduated from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Director of Christian Education (DCE) certification. Randi will oversee the high school youth group, the Wednesday night children's ministry, FW Friends, the Vacation Bible School program, and the outreach program to the Washington High School students.
Randi and her husband, Dustin, enjoy hanging out with their two children, Devin and Reagan, watching Husker games and reality TV.

Ronda Anderson, RN, is the Bethany Lutheran Church Parish Nurse. Her role includes health education, health resource, visitation, and coordinating volunteers. In her position she promotes whole person health, connecting body, mind and spirit. Ronda is a graduate of Bryan Hospital School of Nursing in Lincoln, Nebraska. She has worked in long-term care and home healthcare. She received her parish nurse training through the Health Ministries Clinical Pastoral Education program sponsored by Iowa Lutheran and St. Luke's Hospitals.
Ronda states, "I have been married to Todd for 29 years and have three grown and growing children and a wonder"phil" son-in-law! I am a Stephen Leader in our Stephen Ministry program here at Bethany, sing on a praise team at our contemporary worship service, and am part of the "3rd Team" TLC group. A transplanted Nebraska Cornhusker fan, I pray weekly with the Linn Mar HS "Moms In Touch" group and cheer for the Linn Mar Lions and the Iowa Hawkeyes. I love vacationing on the shores of Lake Michigan at Camp Arcadia with my family and friends each summer."

Risé Stuer is the
Director of Early Childhood Programs at Bethany. This would include 3 and 4 Year Old Preschool and the Mom's Morning Out Program for children 18 months through 4 years. Along with her director duties she is lead teacher for all of the Preschool classes. This will be Rise's fifth year at Bethany overseeing a wonderful staff and program that is in its 26th year of operation.
Risé and her husband, Dave, have been married for 26 years. They have two children, Kyle and Samantha. In her spare time she enjoys reading and traveling with her family and friends.
